The Sheriff’s Children was a story with good meaning but it had a slow beginning. This wonderful little story takes place in Branson County, North Carolina, but anyone would find this out by reading the first sentence. The Sheriff of the town had many responsibilities and this changed my opinion on him. At times he was a badass Sheriff, who knew he needed to be rough tough. Other times he had to be a caring man, forced to make a decision. When the Sheriff did wrong, or made a bad decision, it was not easy for him to see that. In a way, the Sheriff was stubborn. When the Sheriff realized what he did wrong, he really took it hard. The Sheriff had a hard time making a difference between his role as a father, and his role as a Sheriff. He needed to focus more on the father role at a time, to help his family. His son was in trouble and if the Sheriff focused more on his role as a father, things could have turned out better. Due to this move he made, my opinion on him was that he needed to get his priorities and value in line. In a way he is not fully matured.
